5" AutoStop Wheels for Walkers. Combines Wheels And Brakes in One Product. The AutoStop wheels are placed on the rear legs of a walker that has wheels on the front. Without AutoStop wheels, the rear legs of the walker have to slide or glide across the floor or ground. The AutoStop wheels make it easier for the patient to roll the wheeled walker forward and will also roll across rough terrain that would normally interfere with the rubber tips or even the various glide attachments that are normally used on the rear legs of a walker with wheels on the front. The wheels on the AutoStop mechanisms are attached to plunger devices at the bottom of the rear legs of the walker. The braking action of the AutoStop wheels is accomplished by the patient pressing downward on the handgrips of the walker thereby making the rubber tips on the leg contact the surface of the floor providing the braking action. The AutoStop wheels fit walkers with one inch tubing.· Designed as a wheel and braking system, Autostop wheels combine rolling and braking in one product. · For use on front or rear legs of walkers, 5" rubber wheels are ideal for navigating difficult terrain such as grass, sidewalks and carpet. · Recommended for use on the rear legs of the walker when fixed or swivel wheels are used on front walker legs. · Can also be used on the front legs, with glide caps on the rear legs (glide caps included in box). This combines easier mobility with braking action. **We do not recommend AutoStop wheels in front, with regular wheels in back. For 4 wheel use, put AutoStop on rear legs. · Wheels stop rolling when weight is applied to the front of the walker.· 300 lb maximum weight capacity. · Limited lifetime warranty.
